Join us and immediately impact the lives of at-risk kids. Easy as 1-2-3 classrooms.

Alix Charles, a Haitian educator, has worked for foreign organizations for over 20 years. He is now taking a leap of faith and has opened a school in his own community, in his own backyard, for the children in his own neighborhood. L'École Royale is the grand name of a simple school. As soon as Alix hung his shingle on the wall, parents were lined up wanting to enroll their kids. 45 preschoolers started that first September, meeting in a makeshift classroom with a tin roof, a dirt floor… and no toilet.

While Alix and his co-workers will be doing the hard work of educating children and running a school, The Lunch Bucket can fuel his dream and support the work at hand.

Alix owns the land and the vision. We are simply coming in with the assist. The Lunch Bucket can provide practical, tangible items like desks, uniforms and books. We can supporting the maintenance of working toilets and delivery of water for them and clean water for his students.

The beauty in this partnership is that the dignity remains with the doers. We are not claiming ownership over the school or inserting our cultural ideals. We are simply supporting the work at hand. We could tell you all about the abysmal literacy rates in Haiti, or how education is one of the primary rungs on the ladder out of poverty. But you know this already. What people often don’t know is where to give and how to give. This is it.

In 2020 we built the first 3 classrooms for the preschoolers; In 2021 the completed the second story that grows the school to grades 1 - 3. Each year after, funds willing, we will add one classroom until we have enough for preschool through sixth grade (or beyond).
